Shawna Davenport is the Director of Emergency Services and IT Coordinator for Stark County. She began working for the county as the Assistant 911 Coordinator in July of 2019 and was appointed to the Director position taking on both the Emergency Manager and 911 Coordinator role in December of 2020.
Prior to joining the field of emergency management, she worked as a fiscal assistant for Community Action for four years. Her
previous employment and area of expertise is in finance. She holds a degree from Minnesota State Community and
Technical College in Business, and is currently a full-time student at Columbia Southern University studying Homeland Security.
She is a member of the North Dakota Emergency Management Association and the North Dakota 911 Association, as well as an active member of the North Dakota Public Information Officer Association since its formation. She serves as the Secretary/Treasurer for the NDEMA as well as the chairman of the Law Enforcement Center Board in Stark County, a member of the Community Advisory Panel for Marathon Refinery, a voting member of the Stark County Local Emergency Planning Committee, as well as a voting member of the Southwest Coordinated Regional Interoperability Board.
She is an organized individual that keeps groups on task, and enjoys assisting the associations with her detail-oriented, effective multi-tasking! She appreciates the NDPIO Association for providing great resources as well as a network of individuals she can rely on if faced with a situation within her county.
